We will have all the best Australian trimmings with snags on the barbie, lamingtons and a few beers!

The biggest activities happen on Sydney Harbour and you could be in the middle of it. Experience the Australia Day harbour parade – every type of floating vessel will be out and parading, theGreat Ferry Race is always a fun spectacle, tall ships reminding us of the fabulous discovery of Sydney harbour and the Salute to Australia with the 21 gun salute, RAAF precision flying display, Australia Day Regatta (Word’s oldest continuously held yacht race) – so many activities such an experience!

Events: (This is a sample program, we will update as soon as we have information for 2018. A similar series of events or better expected each year)

11.00am Ferrython
Sydney’s much loved green and yellow catamarans, will line up for one of Australia’s most iconic free events. Cheer as we follow the spectacle powering down the Harbour and back to the finish line under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

12.00pm 21 gun salute
To commemorate the Federation of our nation, the Australian Defence Force will fire a 21 gun salute at midday from Fleet Steps North (near Mrs Macquarie’s Point).

12.30pm Best Dressed Vessel Competition – register and WIN
You’re invited to send a spectacular Australia Day message to the city by being part of the Best Dressed Vessels. Boats of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to dress up their vessels in the most colourful and creative ways imaginable. – Wanna get the boat decked out?

From 1.00pm Floating concerts
This exciting new event will see a renowned artist perform for Australia Day crowds both on and off Sydney Harbour. The floating stage will stop off at a number of harbour locations.

1.15pm 178th Australia Day Regatta
The 178th Australia Day Regatta, the world’s oldest continuously conducted annual sailing regatta, will take place throughout the afternoon, with events for all classes of yachts and 18ft skiffs.
Traditional and Classic Yachts from around the nation, some up to a century old, are being invited to take part in this historic event.21
In addition to the main harbour regatta, a large fleet of ocean racing yachts will race to Botany Bay and return for the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s City of Sydney Sesquicentenary Trophy. The 177th Australia Day Regatta will be conducted by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron on behalf of the Australia Day Regatta Inc.

1.30pm F/A-18 Hornet flyover
You’ll hear the Royal Australian Air Force’s F/A‑18 Hornets before you see them coming. They’re fast so be ready!

2.00pm Tall Ships Race
Starting at Bradley’s Head, Sydney’s Tall Ships will lead an impressive fleet of historic and charter vessels as they make their way up the Harbour to finish under the Bridge. This year the Southern Swan, Soren Larsen, Bark Endeavour, James Craig and the RAN’s Young Endeavour are expected to do battle.
All public and private vessels are invited to join in – just mind the 50m exclusion zone around each Tall Ship.
Best vantage point: Bradleys Head to the Bridge on the northern side of the Harbour.

3.00pm Tiger Moths aerial display
Look to the skies at 3pm for the vintage Tiger Moths’ aerial display.

And of course – The spectacular Finale! The fireworks!
